Weatherization

What is the Weatherization Program?
In partnership with local utilities, HACSA provides free Weatherization services to income-eligible home-owners and renters in Lane County. Seniors and persons with disabilities are targeted as first priority.

Weatherization measures designed to reduce energy consumption may include:

  • attic, floor, wall and HVAC duct insulation
  • replacement windows
  • weather stripping
  • caulking
  • diagnostic testing
  • minor related repairs
Installation is completed by licensed and bonded private contractors. Job costs are paid by funding from federal grants and participating utilities.

What are the benefits of Weatherization?
While everyone's home is different, a typical household saves about $200 a year in energy costs through Weatherization.

Weatherization also improves the comfort of your home by retaining warmth in the winter and improving circulation in the summer.

By replacing damaged windows or loosely-fitting doors, Weatherization can also improve a home's security.

Who is eligible?
Homeowners and renters in Lane County whose annual household incomes are below these income limits are eligible.

The Weatherization program serves clients in the order of the four Federal priority groups:

  1. the elderly (60+)
  2. persons with disabilities
  3. children
  4. others

How can I apply?
If you would like to find out if you are eligible for the weatherization program, please call (541) 682-3999, or send us an e-mail including your name and a contact telephone number.
